In today’s page: Section 9’s resident cyborg, Revok, offers up some culinary tips.

I’m in the process of assembling the first five issues of Vanguard into a trade paperback. Once issue five is done, I’ll have a few printed to give away as prizes. Keep ’em peeled.

Also, once five is done, I’m going to take a few weeks off, do some pin-up stuff, while I work on the script for the next issue.

Hello and welcome!

Pendragon and Cates are hundreds of miles away and are in no position to help General Phelps, his wife and the analyst, Mai-Ling, for they are at the mercy of Thade and Section 9. Will the General spill the beans and give up Ophelia as a spy? Will Pendragon be able to help them?

I would have imagined long time readers would have guessed who the mystery person on the end of the Sat-phone was… Neil Thade, team leader of Section Nine. Things look bleak.

This is the last ‘break’ from the main thrust of the story. The last two pages were something I wasn’t entirely comfortable with putting in, as they don’t quite work for me… but I had to drop in on these the characters before the big finale of the issue.

Back to Zug (again) and Cates and Pendragon are in a heap of trouble. They foolishly brought a knife to a gunfight – Heh.

This is issue is going to be passing the 30 page mark, easy. Still have a lot of story to tell before issue six!

Gradlon has discovered selling out might have has cost him more than he realised…

This Saturday, Megan Marky over at ReadComicBooks.net will be running an interview with yours truly about my work on Vanguard. It should reveal some of my insights into my work on this comic… and possibly where it’s headed.

Old MaX is a sly one… he’s paid a super-villain off to attack the convention centre then take a dive, just so he could make the team look good to current and future investors?

This page was a bit of a bugger to finish. I have re-written the dialogue several times. I’m just hoping there’s no glaring errors.

So, did MaXia just get her facts wrong or did the team’s backers know of Eagle-5’s demise before it happened? Our boy Gradlon/Wolfero will have to take this up with Max…
