V06 – Pg11
Q: Where are the Vanguard?
A: Under arrest!
The team have no idea what’s been going on and appear to all have been arrested and locked up in the maximum security cells within Paddington Green Police station.
On a side note, I dislike this page. The art quality has dipped. Probably because I had to rush it a little. Better that than no page, eh?

“Maximum Security”? I feel like it’s a poor decision to put them all in the same cell, especially given that three of them are Supers. That just gives them a better opportunity to coordinate their escape, and use their powers in tandem.
As an aside, I was directed here from Grrl Power, and have been enjoying the comic so far. It’s very dark, not sure I’m a fan of the idea of such a dystopian future, but it’s very well written, and a believable flashforward given the introduction of Supers. Decline of economies, World Wars, etc. The power-balance we have today would be strikingly different. Speaking of, how long has society had the tech to make Supers, and for how long did non-tech Supers like Wodan and Gridlon exist prior to that?
I thought, being that they’re the ‘good guys’, the higher ups would presume that they’d comply with the incarceration. If they didn’t submit to arrest willingly, there’d be little the Police could do to actually arrest/detain them.
If I’m honest, the history of the Meta-Humans and how they came about is something I’ve yet to get around to formulating. We’re talking in the last 10 years or so within the comic. The timeline up until then pretty much mirrors ours.
In regards to the dark future of the story line, it’s not really much of a push from were we are now. A lot of events I’ve put in here have been echo’d in reality but coincidence. The whole riot in Croydon in the comic was followed months later by an actual riot which caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to businesses and property!
If this is “dystopian” than we are living one right now an could lead to a similar future world. We are in a dark present now. With the USA in an average 135 – 180 countries in any one week or month. The US is moving in rather quietly (to us) into AFRICOM, the continent of Africa and its 57 countries at this time. The “hyper power” and empire to most everyone else in the world can commit war crimes at will and not be bothered by such things as international laws or even our own Constitution. The US has identified places of the Earth by such designations and with a global spanning military ten times larger than any other country or countries today combined. Oh the dark days of dystopia exist now and we are one of the main driving forces of such darkness.
