V14 – Pg37
No Escape
Hello there!
Nobody, nobody, is getting out of Salisbury alive… and Cates is making damn sure of that.
One of things I’ll be illustrating (and have started to do so already, I hope), is that Jordana isn’t a killer. She is and will be surrounded by those have no qualms in doing so. One of the struggles she’ll face is the world she operates in allows little room for mercy.
Check out this awesome interview over at Actionagogo with your’s truly. I talk VANGUARD, VYPER and EL MARVO. See what you think!

I expected that Jordana wouldn’t kill an opponent that surrendered unless Herne messed with her head, although I forgot that she wasn’t the only active fighter in the area.
Wow, she has (or maybe HAD*) the full budget-Superman package – highly resistant to damage, extremely strong, and flight.
* She took a very high-powered sniper bullet directly to the cranium, and all it did was stun her for a few moments and leave a little mark that quickly healed. There’s reason to think that missile would not be enough.
Sure looked like enough from where I’m standing. A rifle bullet might not be enough to kill her, but it seems a high-explosive missile was enough to do the job.
I have noticed that most of the flying-brick types in this ‘verse tend to have limited resistance to injury; they may be bulletproof, but not much more than that. And remember, Jordana was hurting Pinky in hand-to-hand combat, that’s why Pinky chose to restreat in the first place.
I do kinda how this isnt the end of Pinky but this series isnt afraid to kill or maim its “”Supermen”.
I just went back and checked, and there’s no explicit death scene for Mr TargettingOpticsForAFace (whatever his name was), but Cates having killed him is certainly heavily implied…
Sniper bullets look puny compared to stuff that can penetrate more than meter of steel. And I’m talking about “mere” contemporary tech here.
OTOH the missiles in the launcher look really small, wonder whether they’re at least 70mm in diameter.
