V08 – Pg30
A big welcome to you Collective of Heroes readers! You’ve jumped in right at the end of an issue. Feel free to go back through the archives and read the whole story so far. Out of curiosity, which webcomic did you come here from?
Want to add Vanguard to your reading list? Here’s some handy links:
COMIC ROCKET and/or INKOUTBREAK
…and that’s the end of issue eight. The stage is set for a showdown between the Vanguard and the UK armed forces versus the combined might of the Hollow Men.
Fear not, Vanguard will return in a few weeks time! In the meantime, I’ll be doing a few pin-ups for other comics and doing some pages for Reynard City.
Also, I’ll be offering the chance to advertise YOUR webcomic here on VANGUARD, for FREE! I’ll be giving details out within the next week on how to apply on my Twitter feed, so make sure you keep an eye out. Spots will be limited, so you better be quick.
Please spare a moment to vote for Reddit, Cheers!

Great cover
Thanks bud!
I came here from GRRLPOWER. Been a good read so far. Looking forward to what happens next.
Glad to have you aboard, Drachnon – Grrlpower is an excellent webcomic!
Powerful. I love it!
Cheers man! 🙂
I came here from reading the specialists. if anyone hasn’t read it stop what you’re doing and read it.
with your comic Vanguard we kind of jumped into the story pretty fast.
I wouldn’t have minded getting to know the kid was a little bit better, but honestly that’s pretty minor considering what an amazing story you wrote.
the personalities of your cast stand out very well and each is in an individual.
though you have probably 1 of the biggest cast I have ever seen next to the Legion of super-heroes.
your are costume designs are pretty boss, your attention to detail is astounding and your coloring is out of this world.
I am especially impressed with your vistas, cityscapes and vehicles.
my favorite characters of yours is Pendragon, Spitfire and most especially the character of Woden.
the scenes of Woden talking to the wild Huntsman are super cool and beautifully rendered. that green light silhouetted panel work is so well done that I am terribly jealous.
you have put a lot of hard work in the sky mac and you’ve done amazing job. you should be very proud of yourself.
my only hope is that your focus tightens on a more central core of characters. but you’re juggling a whole world so I do understand and in that capacity you have done a great job.
it’s a fun ride and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
Thanks!
Les
Sorry for taking so long to reply!
Welcome to the comic, I’m glad you’re enjoying it. The first nine issues are essentially an origin story for what comes next, which will be a lot more character driven as opposed to event lead. Where the first arc dealt with problems on a global scale, this one will be smaller, at least at the start.
Thanks for taking the time to read/comment!
