Yup, the Vanguard were actually killed by Daedalus…

FREE COMIC BOOK DAY APPROACHES!
Yes, Free Comic Book Day is a mere 10 days away and the super awesome team at the Collective of Heroes has put together a bumper-sized free comic for the occasion. I’ll pimp out the links once it goes up online.
Also, Avengers:Age Of Ultron has finally arrived. I’ll be seeing it on Saturday. I have a few friends who have seen advance screenings and they have been saying it is awesome. I AM VERY EXCITE!. From the clips/trailers, I think a World War Hulk could well be on the cards… fingers crossed.
Are you seeing the film this weekend? What are you’re thoughts on it?
See you Friday!

Well that is interesting… It explains why statue man (whom I doubt is the real Daedalus) murdered the PM on television. He provided a highly visible and recognizable (yet unknown) enemy to blame for all of the nation’s misfortunes rather than the more media friendly MaXtreme team, who no doubt are credited with trying to help save Britain rather than contributing to its fall.
Your theory is certainly… interesting
But you’re not saying I’m wrong… I’ll just keep my tinfoil hat on while waiting for the next comic.
Remember your tinfoil butt plug as well. Stops the probing and them getting to your butt thoughts I hear:P
Welp. Doesn’t look less painful the second time around.
I think it actually looks way more painful.
KingSword looked waaaay more beaten first time around…
I was talking about Gradlon, really.
Ohhh, ok.
I don’t remember it ending that way
No time like the present to go back and reread issues 1-9!
Have you heard of the Asch conformity experiments?

Say, everyone around you, the media, those in power, tell you that something you saw happened differently to the way you remember it. I’d imagine, at some point, you’d doubt yourself and what you witnessed.
There were few enough witnesses of what actually went down anyway. None that got the whole picture, except people involved in the conspiracy. So…
This makes me quite curious regarding the nature of Daedalus’ abilities. I also wouldn’t be surprised if there’s more than one (he was referred to as the “the acolyte” after all), or if it turned out that Team Extreme was killed off during the battle.
…interesting
That’s a really interesting thought. We’ll be exploring Daedalus, who/what it/he is, etc.
I like the comics, but for me as a reader this page + Dans comment is hard to understand.
In the previous issues the narrative as I understood it was that we are observing the events from a ‘gods point of view’ (i.e. essentially as if we were there).
This page narrative is ‘events as they are remembered by one of the characters’. I understood the page in a way where for some yet untold reason the characters after 15 years live in an era where Vanguard is *remembered* as being killed by Daedaulus. But your comment Dan suggests that this is what actually happened and we were observing in the previous issues…. something else. Somebodys dream/halucination ?
Actually, the reason Dan put actually in italics was because he actually didn’t mean actually. Okay?
Yeah, sorry about that. I was trying to suggest that it wasn’t that way at all!
Aha, thanks for the clarification.
