Recalling events that took place in the last issue, the underground news network brāvnüwərd.net, has got it’s hands on the 8mm footage we heard about here!
Who is the mysterious lady with the facial coverings? Another blast from the past whose identity we’ll be discovering later.
The stage is set for the next issue, as the De Tonerres now have a lot more to worry about than they could have ever imagined!
VANGUARD updates on Wednesdays and Fridays, BUT if you’re a Patreon of the comic, you’ll get a week’s worth of the comic ahead of the main site PLUS the daily sketch updates PLUS the chance to win an art commission.
What a great deal, eh? So why not help the creation of VANGUARD and throw a few quid/bucks into the pot?
Enjoy!
Dan
Please spare a moment to sling the comic a vote on TWC. It helps new readers find the comic – Thank you!
Let me begin by saying ‘thank you’ for being patient. Issue 12 is on the way! I’ve taken on a few paying comic jobs of late, and really want them done before I can move back onto VANGUARD.
I’d love to get to a position where I can create VANGUARD and have it pay for itself. I think the best way would be to generate more funds via Patreon. If you enjoy the comic, I’d ask if you could fire off a few dollars towards the production of it per month. It’d help in as much as I wouldn’t have to take on other paid jobs that’d take me away from this.
If you, the readers, have any ideas or suggestions, I’d love to hear them. Issue 12 will begin next month – June 2016. Not long to wait!
I thank you for your patience and sticking with the comic. The script for the next issue is bloody fantastic – I can’t wait to get started!
We are all set for a big showdown in issue 12, as Jordana tries her powers out for the first time while looking for payback for Violet shooting her best friend, Nara. That and Guy is on the run as the same psycho little girl hunts him down on a powerless De Tonnerre mansion!
It’s gonna go off!
One (bonus) page left and issue 11 is complete! This one has been a bit a struggle, as I tried to do this, put together the trade paperback and get myself ready for London Super Comic Con. Phew! Well, we got there in the end!
Starting from next issue, page will update a week in advance on Pateon, then appear on the main site. If you want to get a week’s worth of pages in advance and support the running of the site, I’d ask that you contribute the low price of at least a $1 (it’s like, 75p in sterling).
I’m going to have the script for issue 12 written entirely before even starting work drawing. It’s what ’caused issues with this issue!
As always, if you enjoyed this page, an upvote on REDDIT would be super nice 🙂
Spoiled brat and borderline psychopath Violet takes her frustrations out on not only the (poor) dog, but on Guy, dirty and rain soaked, dressed in a silly Fox outfit. So here she is, in her red riding outfit, hunting a dude dressed as a fox.
Two (ish) pages left on we’re done with issue issue 11!

Back at the De Tonnerre residence. It’s not been a particularly good day for the family. They’ve arrived back home to take stock of things.
I feel really sorry for poor old Guy back there. He’s had a really crappy time too. But what would this comic be if it didn’t give it’s characters a hard time? He’ll be looking back on these moments with fond memories when the next page hits on Friday!
As always, if you enjoyed this page, an upvote on REDDIT would be super nice 🙂
So we set up the next issue, where Jordana and Woden go off to get some payback at the Tonnerre residence. We only have four more pages of this issue and we’re done. It’s been a bit of a monster, going above the 30 page count.
As always, if you enjoyed this page, an upvote on REDDIT would be super nice 🙂
Boom! There we go, Jordana gets a ‘costume’ of sorts. I’ve written out a great big long blog post explaining how I got her look down. It took a while.
I had a really dopey rhyme that she would say to call forth the armour, which was something like ‘I stand to face Herne’s enemies, hence I call for my armour to defend my extremities’
Yes, you can see why I didn’t go with that – Ha ha!

The next page is ‘the money shot’. Can’t wait to show you it. These will be the last few pages in the cave before we head somewhere else and this issue wraps!
Going to approaching the next script for the issue a little differently. This one was very loose in parts, which, to be honest, has slowed production of pages down.
Apologies on the broken update schedule. Why’s this page late? I forgot my bloody HD with the page on it at home! Bah!
I had a big long speech planned out for those last two panels. I can’t discuss it here, ’cause it’ll spoil the next page. I yanked it because it was bloody awful! Ha ha!
I’ve had a lot of inquiries from people regarding purchasing the print version of VANGUARD. As you may or may not know, I had a number of copies printed for London Super Comic Con 2016.
This is a ‘while stocks last’ kinda deal. Once I’m sold out, I’m sold out!
