Book 11

We are off and running. I know most of you figured out that Pendragon was coming back last issue, but… Pendragon is back damn it! And not just Pendragon but a whole bunch of folks from the original series including some you probably forgot about. We have so many exciting things planned for this issue and this story arc. Just hold on and enjoy the ride!

Welcome Back!

Issue 11 has finally arrived. Huzzah!

First off, may I offer a warm welcome to any readers who have found their way here via The Collective of Heroes. There’s ten issues of this comic all ready to read. Just use that handy menu to pick issue one and off you go!

In the last issue, Pendragon, long since thought dead, has returned to a devastated England. Will he be able to right the wrongs that befell our nation? Read on…

On Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be publishing a double ‘previously in VANGUARD’ to help new readers get up to speed.

TRAILER – The Demon Archives

Throughout the next two weeks in the lead up to the launch of issue eleven, I’ll be running some webcomic trailer posters. Hooray!

The second of our trailer pics is for the webcomic The Demon Archives, written by Daniel Sharp.

Synopsis:
‘Set in 22nd century Earth, over 100 years after the 3rd World War, the Demon Archives tells the survivors’ stories as they struggle to rebuild civilization. In Book One, we’ll meet the members of Minerva, one of the few high tech organizations that survived the War, and learn how they established a beacon of hope in the dreary wasteland of central Asia.

Minerva: Book One of the Demon Archives follows the story of Tenzin, a Minervan soldier, and his Oracle AI, Jane, as they fight to protect the ideals Minerva stands for in an increasingly chaotic world.

With a heavy basis in real science and technology with a healthy dollop of imagination, The Demon Archives will show you how life could be in a post-apocalyptic Earth.’

This comic is absolutely cracking. Well worth a read. Excellent writing/excellent art. Recommended.

The first of our trailer pics is for the webcomic RetroBlade

Synopsis:
‘In the year 3007 a reality crash has wiped everything out, and the last known survivor Axel Kepler is working his way backwards through time, trying to figure out where it all went wrong.
With a severely out of touch Database, a Transmutation Device for food (that, if anything, makes molecules less edible than they were before) and only a cryptic Blueprint left by his sister to guide him, he needs help…

He needs a Team.

Together, they will find out how to fix things, who the good guys really are… and why people from the future have such cheesy haircuts.

‘Meanwhile’, a few millennia earlier… a young boy named Magnus is bestowed with remarkable powers he was never meant to have, and chooses not to save the world with them’.

Go take a peek and tell ’em I sent you! 😉

Not A Hoax, Not A Dream…

So, Pendragon’s back! I know you’re thinking that you knew he was back, but I mean he’s really back in full costume and all of that! So, the end of Book 10 is obviously just the beginning. We’re really excited about all of the cool stuff we have in store for you. Thanks for reading and we will be back very soon with Book 11!

And then there was one

There is only one page left in Book 11 and then Dan and I will take a wee break to get book 12 in order. I’m sorry that Nara died. It was not a decision we arrived at lightly. In fact, someone else was supposed to die but they got cut from the story entirely. Perhaps they will show up at a later date. A lot of people in the comments have been suggesting that the pies are poisoned. Believe me if they wanted to kill the people in the settlement there are quicker and easier ways for them to do it. It was meant to be a token of good will, a good deed. But you know what they say about good deeds…

One more page before the end of the issue and things are getting intense. I’ll be taking a little break between issues to catch up on uploading VANGUARD back issues onto Comixology as well as working on the script to the next issue with Gary.
