And thus ended Die Blood! He died as he lived…
Being that he was such a horrible character, he had to have a horrible death.
And there we have one of my main problems with Wolverine. Bones might not break, but joints can still be torn.
My other main problem is “Well these claws are realy realy hard, that is why i can cut through armor plates”.. No you canΒ΄t, you are just not strong enough to do that you twit.
Wolvie has had some serious plot armor. And yeah, you can have an indestructible claws, but having teh strength to punch them through, say, an armor plated tank, that’s something else.
The concept of an “indestructible” object allows for single-atom thickness cutting edges. This would indeed allow near-effortless cutting of a great many substances, including exceedingly resistant materials used in armor…
…however, a large block of said material (like an armor plate) would make cutting deeply into it exceedingly difficult, unless the entire cutting blade was also only one atom thick, as you would have to bend/break the remaining (not yet cut) material sufficiently to make room for the cutting implement itself.
Die-Blood actually had a better cutting mechanism, logistically, as it would simply burn any material out of the way (like a light-saber, another movie-magic item that would actually be quite impossible in real life, and completely insane to actually use even if you did manage it – the heat by-product alone would kill you in many cases, so say nothing of the energy output required to produce said heat).
Yep, fair points. I think i’d rather have the Wolvie claws… if for no reason other than aesthetic ones.
Well, in Wolvies defense, they are indestructible, *super sharp* claws. The magi-ahem, scientific metal they are made of makes any normal substance seem like tissue-paper besides them. But yeah, plot armour too.
I can well imagine that fighting some one with three foot blades on the back of their hand wouldn’t go well. I think I remember an interview with Jackman on the set of the first X-Men film when he said how he nearly maimed a stunt person using the fake ones!
Awesome.
Thanks Max – Our fondness for comicbook violence unites us!
And just like that, Die-Blood has been disarmed.
Which sucks quite a lot if your weapons are natural or implanted, as can easily be seen.
Also I’m flabbergasted and happy and currently wondering, how a locally themed Swiss (as I am) superhero team would look like.
And before someone brings them into play: No cuckoo clocks, that’s Swabia. And no Lederhosen, that’s Bavaria. Southern Germany, both of them.
I guess one could use our local legend. Which would allow for some rather gruesome characters, like a Sennentuntschi.
Well every nation, depending on how well of they were, would have it’s own Meta-Humans. I’m more than happy to see people’s interpretations. Perhaps one of the Metas located in your country would have gone after Pendragon and Cates when they stole the Blue-Lake hardrive… as they were committing a criminal act.
YES!!!! That dirty bastard deserved a far worse fate. If only Gradlon went feral and started clubbing him with his own appendages.
I would have LOVED to do a more protracted death scene for Die-Blood… but giving it more than a few pages would have been a bit much… sadly.
Gradlon pulled a Vegeta on Die blood π
Heh heh! I’ve never really got into Dragonball, but always liked Vegeta
hes a jerk, but the kind of jerk that grows on you π
I’m always fond of those type of characters π
I put my comment in the wrong place, sorry! Vanguard rocks! Great comic!
Glad you’re liking it, Chris! Welcome aboard π
